About Nora Tactical
Hello, my name is Lasse. This is short story about this little project:
Nora Tactical was founded in 2009 after my conscript service in the Norwegian Army, when I joined the Rapid Reaction Forces in the Norwegian Home Guard. It’s the classic story about being issued sub-par tactical gear, and a desire to build something.
While Nora was never a fulltime project, it was my income during my studies. I built mostly custom tactical gear for friends, and the occasional project for various companies in the defence industry or government entities. I have a Bachelor Degree in Product Design and Post Grad Diploma in Technical Apparel Design, which I finished up in 2015.
Between 2015 and 2025, I worked in the outdoor industry in Canada and Norway for major brands in both countries. Always development related, and always with a sewing machine as my main workstation. Some of the work here included large military tenders or SMU projects for SOF units.
After a bit of turmoil in the outdoor industry post-Covid, I decided that it was time to start my own freelance company. I established LUP R&D AS in 2025 and I offer basically anything and everything within development of backpacks and load-bearing equipment; design, development, pattern-making, 3D, prototyping and small-scale production and consultancy for mass production. Nora Tactical fills any time between business clients.
Nora Tactical, like back in 2009, still aims to create no-bullshit tactical gear for the professional end-user. There ain’t no gimmicks and no baseless scientific claims. I focus on craftsmanship and quality products that fit the need of the users, Made in Norway!
